(East Los Angeles, CA) December 10, 2020 [From The Editor’s Desk]: The stage has been finally set for the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs – MLS Cup, despite all of the changes and “close-calls” that occurred during this COVID-19 coronavirus plagued season. It’ll be the #2 seeded, Seattle Sounders FC  vs. the #3 seeded Columbus Crew SC in what should be a very intense and exciting match. Coming to a close for this season will be final salute to the Black Lives Matter movement that was initiated as a pre-game activity by the MLS’ Black Players Association. Needless to say, there will be some off-season discussions regarding the implementation of a new plan for the upcoming 2021 season.

Here are their records. The Sounders come in with an (11-5-6) overall record, after finishing second in the Western Conference, behind Sporting Kansas City. They are appearing in the Final Cup match for the fourth time in five years and are looking to bring home the Trophy in a “back-to-back” fashion. Meanwhile, the Crew earned a (12-6-5) overall record, finishing third behind the Philadelphia Union and the Toronto FC respectively in the Eastern Conference. This is the second time in club history they’ve made it to the Cup Final.

(Final Thoughts): In paraphrasing what MLS Insider, Sam Jones pointed out in his daily newsletter, the final verdict comes down to a close victory by Seattle, (2-1), but it can also be argued that the Crew certainly have all the tools, as wells the Home-Pitch advantage, to reverse that prediction and come out the victors. But, then again, that’s why they play the matches!! Please make sure you tune in via TV or via Streaming.
