In-Studio: Roosevelt Rough Riders 2019 Football Preview | L.A. City Section

Rough Riders Open 2019 Away With Canoga Park on 8/23, Followed By Wilson At Home on 8/30.

(Boyle Heights Technology & YouthSource Center)East L.A. Sports Scene returned to its “In-Studio” format this month for its inaugural High School Football Preview Show, when Roosevelt Rough Riders Head Coach, Aldo Parral and five of his upcoming Senior varsity players paid a visit and provided Host/Creator, Rico Cabrera, Sr. with an-depth interview on their upcoming preparations for the 2019 football season. You’ll also see the “up close and personal” profiles on Coach Parral and all of his players.

We encourage ALL of our high school football fans, especially those of you who are currently Roosevelt students, and of course, all of the thousands of Rough Rider alumni, to watch and enjoy this presentation as we cover lots of ground on the preparations for the season, as well giving you Head Coach and Player interviews.

Lastly, you will see another excellent Photo Gallery as captured by our longtime veteran staff member and videographic/photographic community sports liaison, Erik Sarni. The Gallery will show the Rough Riders working out in their Weightlifting Center, some on-field activities with no pads, and lastly, the player In-Studio interviews. Hoping that you will like, and then share our production, with all of your friends and family members as widely as possible.

The five Roosevelt Rough Rider players who appear on our show are: #5/QB/SR/Andres Flores, coming off a great Junior year while leading the team to the D-2 Championship game vs. Locke HS; #2/RB/SR/Frankie Cruz, looking to return for another big season after rushing for 1,546 total yds. and averaging 134 yds. per game; #23/TE/LB/SR/Alejandro Sepulveda, hoping to put up even bigger “two-way” numbers than he did in 2018; #7/DL/SR/Mark Carrillo, looks to be the team’s best “two-way” player as a tight end and defensive end; and #53/DL/OL/Alek Rojas, will move into the fullback spot and then lead his teammates onto many victories as a defensive tackle.

Here’s the Rough Riders’ 2019 schedule.

Up Next On Preview: On Wednesday, July 31st, the Garfield Bulldogs, with Head Coach Lorenzo Hernandez, and several of his selected players will make their way to our studio for their appearance on our “In Studio” Preview Show.
