[1st Half]: For the first 20 minutes, it was the standard style of play with both teams probing each other’s defense. There wasn’t much consistent attacking by either squad, however LAFC attempted more shots on goal than Real Salt Lake.

Then, suddenly at around the 36th minute mark, a flurry of shots by the Black & Gold provoked the crowd to rise in roaring cheers and support for the team, but good defensive goalkeeping kept the score at (0-0). The Real Salt Lake shots were also qualified as good, but were blocked at close range.

[2nd Half]: At the 48th minute, #24/Ryan Hollingshead took control of the sphere in front of the goal after a crosser was left uncovered and then blasted it in past the out-of-positioned goalkeeper, making it (1-0) for the Black & Gold.

Then lightning struck again, when Cristian “Chicho” Arango, with the assist from Vela, found the back of the netting for LAFC’s 2nd goal. Garth Bale was then brought in to solidify and protect the lead. The very animated and happy crowd sensed the victory at hand and were pleased to see their team play in rhythm and confidence, just as they did during their tremendous winning streak.

After a penalty kick was awarded to LAFC, El Capitán Vela strode up to the penalty kick placement, but missed it to the right. A third goal would have been highly welcomed by the crowd, but it did not happen in this match.
