In Studio: Roosevelt Baseball Fundraiser Appeals To Alumni & Community | 1.17.18

Attention To All of our followers who are Roosevelt Rough Rider Alumni. The 2018 Varsity baseball team, under Head Coach, Ray Ruiz, Class of ’93, is kindly asking for your financial support by contributing to their annual fundraising Alumni game. Coach Ruiz and his organizing committee have set up a GoFundMe account and are looking to raise $2,500 for the purchase of new equipment, as well as for a scheduled “A” list tournament scheduled for March in San Diego. The Alumni Game will take place on Saturday, Feb. 10th at Veterans Park located in the City of Commerce. Any donation is greatly welcomed and is tax deductible. Contributions from any interested local community members and businesspersons are also welcomed. Admission to the game is FREE to all, so if you are an Alumni, please bring  your Rough Rider family out for a beautiful and meaningful day at the park. (See event Flier in photo gallery for more details).

Now, please take a look at our thirty minute In-Studio program that features Coach Ruiz, his longtime Assistant Coach, Jaime Valle, Class of ’80, and four of the team’s senior players, Brandon Hernandez, Luis Martinez, Jesus Acosta, and Simon Diaz. The Rough Rider program is one of the best in the CIF/L.A. City Section, Division 1 category, and are “back-to-back” winners of the Eastern League. They have also made playoff appearances in four out of the past five years. By: Rico Cabrera, Sr./Editor, EastLASportsScene.Com
